We are Prairie Witch
Bismarck based heavy rock band Prairie Witch has been kicking out the jams since 2012, and in that time have toured around the Midwest and melted faces along the way. Prairie Witch has played with such diverse acts as Saliva, The Meat Puppets, Dead Horse Trauma, and Act of Defiance. They have also played Revival Fest in Illinois, a 3-day party in the woods.
Prairie Witch keeps it loose and informal onstage, but never sacrifices a great performance. They feel that the goal of a live performance should be the entertainment and enjoyment of both audience and performers. To this end, they talk with the crowd, not just to them, they play cartoons behind them, and always bring 110% to the music.
Prairie Witch is the embodiment of the dichotomy of rock/metal: serious and silly. They write songs about depression and isolation like Locked Away and Below, and songs like Night Terrors and Hand of Doom, both about comic book characters, and Through the Eye, about interdimensional space monsters.
In Sept 2018, Prairie Witch independently released What We Have Become, their follow-up to 2015’s Hitch-Hiking Prohibited, under the moniker Grime.

Side 'A' from What We Have Become
After months of painstaking work it's finally here. Our first full length album, "What We Have Become", is complete. There are ten songs in the album, four of which have never been heard before the release of this album, and two others that we don't often play live. It features our unique brand of hard hitting rock and roll that explores a wide range of sounds and styles. With the expertise of Tyler Schmalz of Red Dot Recording, we were able to find precisely the sounds we wanted to make our music come alive and to breathe new life into songs we had been playing for years. Some of those songs were even some of the first we ever wrote as a band. This led to many long nights in the studio. Sometimes we had a plan and knew exactly what we wanted to do and others it was a bit of a guessing game and required some ingenuity and improvisation. But, in the end we were able to record exactly the album we imagined. We hope you enjoy our first full length album "What We Have Become".
